A few biscuits during the tea time, a pastry without much ado, a slice of cake at the desk, all these innocent small affronts – and you are guilty.
Most of the bakery is made from maida (refined flour), sugar, and hydrogenated oils. This certainly leads to the increase of the blood sugar, thus bringing the body additional empty calories and overburden the liver with unhealthy fats.
The liver’s responsibilities are not only detoxifying the body but also storing extra glucose by converting it into fat. Regular consumption of bakery products will lead to the development of fatty degeneration of the liver cells.
Moreover, in the case of the use of additives and colorings which are aimed at the longer shelf life and the visual appearance of the product, liver function is overtaxed.
There might be no visual or noticeable effects. But instead, the liver is always on the sickbed battling against the problem.
