However, the real issue is that these so-called soft drinks are extremely high in fructose, a kind of sugar that your muscle or brain cells do not consume. The fructose goes directly to the liver.

The liver receives the sugar and changes it into fat. Doing so every day means that fats are simply beginning to gather in liver cells.
