11. Basil Tea: Ayurvedic Wisdom for Kidney Stones

Tulsi, known as holy basil, is a sacred herb in Indian homes—and its advantages are well beyond resistance to diseases.
Basil tea is particularly good for the kidneys as it lowers the uric acid concentration and dissolves kidney stones.
In a way, it works as a mild diuretic and detoxifier which allows your body to get rid of the toxins more efficiently.
Basil’s compounds also have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which may lower the chances of infection and the support of the overall renal function.
One can make a plain tulsi tea by boiling some fresh tulsi leaves in water for a few minutes and then drinking the tea warm.
To make it more powerful, put some lemon juice or a little bit of pure honey.
Having this tea once a day can be a great preventive measure against the formation of new stones as well a support for the detox process of the kidneys.
